Onsite · a few sessions a year

The Onsite

A complete technical session, prepared for you and delivered in person: half a day of presentation, half a day on your own queries. One or two days, kept deliberately rare.

The onsite is a complete technical session: prepared specifically for you, and delivered in person, not a generic deck recited. It takes the content of The Art of PostgreSQL and puts it against your code. The point is not to cover a syllabus, it is that your team leaves with their own queries rewritten.

Not to be confused with the Live Masterclass, which is the remote, recurring format open to everyone. The onsite happens at your office, once, on your code.

  1. 1

    Get in touch

As early as possible, and at least six weeks before the session — the time it takes to prepare content that speaks to your code, not a generic example.

  2. 2

    Send your material

Two weeks before: schema (DDL), a handful of slow queries with their EXPLAIN output, and the business context — data volumes, constraints, what has already been tried.

  3. 3

    Confirm logistics

One week before: location, room, projector, VPN access if needed, and the list of attendees.

  4. 4

    The day itself

Presentation in the morning, your queries in the afternoon — see the Local scenario below for exactly how the day runs.

Local — Paris

  1. Morning — presentation
  2. Afternoon — Q&A and real cases

Single day, no lodging. The one-day format, run start to finish on-site, no travel scenario to plan around.

Short travel — France, nearby Europe

  1. Tuesday morning — travel out
  2. Tuesday afternoon — first session
  3. Wednesday morning — second session
  4. Wednesday afternoon — travel back

The one-day format (two half-days) fits into two calendar days, round trip included.

Long travel — outside Europe

  1. Day 1 — travel out
  2. Day 2 — rest (jet lag)
  3. Days 3 and 4 — the two onsite days
  4. Day 5 — travel back

A full week. Booked as the Full week format below — travel and accommodation are billed separately at cost, business class on the long-haul legs.

  • One day

    €4,500

Excluding travel and accommodation, billed separately at cost, on top of the price above.

Half a day of presentation, half a day of questions and real cases.

  • Two days

    €8,000

Excluding travel and accommodation, billed separately at cost, on top of the price above.

Preparation is the same regardless of format and is shared across both days: more ground covered, and the time to work through your queries one by one.

  • Full week

    €12,500

Excluding travel and accommodation, billed separately at cost — business class on long-haul flights, on top of the price above.

The two-day format, for long-distance travel: a full week door to door, jet lag included.

Book a slot

Tell me roughly when, and whether one day or two — we work out the rest from there. No form in between. I invoice the company booking the slot, payment due in full on receipt; travel and accommodation are either invoiced alongside it or paid directly by you, whichever's easier.
